The For Everything Else Experience

Whenever I start 'liasing' with a new female I always get inspired to buy new clothes. And as I haven't had any such 'liason' for quite some time, I must admit that I am quite in need of new clothes.
When I started going out with Celeste I ditched all of the clothes that made me look middle-aged and bought stuff that made me look mid-20s. But, as I was fairly skint at the time, all of these clothes were purchased from Matalan or Primark, or even Asda. Nothing wrong with that whatsoever, and a very definite improvement on the previous 'look' I had.
So now I have evolved again and have started buying a few 'labels'. Shock horror.
Admittedly these 'labels' have been exclusively purchased from two luxurious fashion houses - Matalan and eBay. However, the effect is the same. I am now moving towards 'fashionable' mid-20s. I now have (hold your gasps please):
A pair of Abercrombie & Fitch jeans
An Yves Saint Lauren shirt
A long-sleeved Diesel T-shirt
A Dolce & Gabbana jumper
A short-sleved FCUK T-shirt
Considering I've always had a thing against 'labels' they actually look quite nice, and are rather comfy. Who'd have believed it?!?!
Of course I'm still loathe to pay anything more than £10 for anything, but it's a step in the right direction methinks.
Anyhoo, the YSL shirt cost £18 from Matalan and looks rather lovely. Giles then mentions last night that he has also bought a YSL shirt, but from Debenhams. I'm guessing you've spotted the punchline already - it was exactly the same shirt in exactly the same colour!!! What are the chances?!?!
And as the advert goes:
Black long sleeve YSL shirt with purple stripes from Matalan - £18
Exact same long sleeve YSL shirt with purple stripes from Debenhams - £45
Look on Giles' face - priceless.
On Spacey's site she has a link to a cool eye-trickery thingie, which I thought I'd share with you, as I rather liked it. So, um, go and have a look at that and be stunned and amazed by the awesome power of the mind. Or be mildly impressed, steal it and stick it on your own blog like I did. However the mood takes you....
Spent another 3 hours smashing up concrete today. Quite why there are large slabs of concrete under our garden is a little beyond me, and quite why one such block has to be right under where I need to put a fence post is, to say the least, mildly irritating. It'll all be worth it in the end though. At least it sure as hell better be....links: digg this del.icio.us technorati reddit
